About Us

We are here to help support families who have had a stillborn child. If you are visiting our website because you have had a stillbirth, we are so very sorry for your loss. If you are visiting because you know someone who has had a loss, thank you for helping to support them.

Our Mission

The Samuel Jonas Angel Fund Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization recognized by NY State and the IRS. This organization was created to help families who have had a stillborn child. We want to help provide both emotional support as well as financial burial assistance. 100% of all proceeds go to the organization and are tax deductible.

Our Story

This organization is named for our son, Samuel Jonas Carroll. We found out on June 29, 2015 that we lost him and it changed our lives forever. Samuel was born still on July 1, 2015 when I was 7 months pregnant. He was a beautiful baby boy, 15 inches long, 2 lbs 10 oz and he looked just like his two older brothers. We got to meet him that day and then sadly had to say goodbye. The pain that we have endured from this is truly beyond words. This is the hardest and worst thing we have ever gone through.

After we lost Samuel, we had a burial for him. We could not believe that there was nothing in place to help pay for his funeral/burial. Even though he had medical rights after 24 weeks, he did not have any coverage with life insurance or medical insurance because he never got a birth certificate. After we went through this, it made me want to help others who go though it also.

Having to get the worst news imaginable, and then having to spend a lot of money that you might not have is a terrible situation to be in. Talking about it hurts but helps, and it is important to understand that although this is a very small community of people, we should be able to be there for each other. I wanted to start this organization to help support others in as many ways as I can, and do it in my son's name so that he is in some way helping people since he will never get the chance to. I would like to be able to provide both emotional support to families who have this unfortunate experience, but also raise money to help them provide a burial for their child, should they choose to do so.

I have many visions for this organization but the one of utmost importance, is just to be there to help support the families who have had their hearts broken from experiencing this kind of loss.

I am Jennifer, Samuel's mommy. Nice to meet you and I hope we are able to help.

By making a donation to The Samuel Jonas Angel Fund Inc., you can help provide support to families who have a baby who is born still. About one in every 160 pregnancies in the U.S. ends in a stillbirth, which adds up to about 26,000 each year nationwide. All donations are tax deductible.

One of the great ways to support The Samuel Jonas Angel Fund Inc. is through our fundraising events. Any amount of money helps and is greatly appreciated. Please keep checking back for our fundraising events. For anyone who missed our painting fundraiser, we have another one coming in June 2017.

Help us help others. If you would like to volunteer for our fundraising events, either by hosting one, donating items, or just giving your time, please send us an email at Sammyangel71@yahoo.com and provide your contact information. These events will be in NY, primarily in Suffolk County. Any support is appreciated.

We will be adding an Angel Remembrance Page so if you would like to add the name and date of your angel, please email it to me at Sammyangel71@yahoo.com.
